Elementary Enviroment
Bigtime is our Sunday morning environment
for elementary-aged kids (Kindergarten through 3rd grade.) In
Bigtime, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship
can be really loud and good leaders always care! Before kids head
off to Crew 456, we want to make sure these 3 things stick…
1. Wisdom: I need to make the
wise choice.
2. Faith: I can trust God no matter what.
3. Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
We use 252
Basics for our elementary curriculum.
What to Expect:
The main focus of Bigtime are small groups! We believe families
can be changed because of child’s small group participation.
We want kids to see how God’s word fits into their lives,
to learn to talk to Him and to build friendships that will last.
That’s why it’s important to make sure your child
connects with the same friends, same leader, at the same hour
– EVERY SUNDAY. To help your child develop their faith we
encourage you to pick up a copy of the God Time
cards located outside the door of the classroom. These are
weekly devotions where you and your kids can spend time reading
the Bible together and praying together. We want our kids to establish
a lifelong habit of spending time with God and you are a best
teacher for that!
Check-In: For security
reasons all children must be registered before you drop them off
with their groups. Registration is located at the "Ticket
Booth" in the main hallway. You and your child will recieve
matching nametags which are used to pick them up after worship.
Once registered, you can take them to their rooms where one of
our volunteers will greet you. At registration we also request
that you notify us of any food allergies or illnesses. If your
child is sick (fever, rashes, stomach problems, etc.) we ask that
you not bring them into our elementary enviroment.
First time? We recommend
that you arrive 15 minutes early to give you enough time to register
and get your child settled in their enviroment.
A Typical Week in Bigtime:
-
Welcome: Each child is greeted
at their classroom by the morning’s host and small group
leader. Kids participate with their small group in an activity
meant to introduce the one TRUTH, or bottom line, we want kids
to walk away with and remember that morning.
-
Large Group Environment:
Shortly after arriving, kids are moved to their large group
environment where they hear the Bible story. We use costumes,
props, and characters from the story - anything that makes the
Bible come to life. We also carve out time each week for kids
to sing as loud as they want and tell God how much they love
Him.
-
Small Group Environment:After
participating in worship, kids divide into their small groups
where their leaders help them understand how the day's bottom
line can fit into their everyday life. Small group leaders in
Bigtime are serious about having fun with kids and passionate
about teaching the TRUTH. We want kids to see how God's word
fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build
friendships that will last. Every Sunday they connect with the
same small group of kids and the same small group leader. That
way they get connected and we have the best chance to establish
a relationship that's going to matter when they need it most.
- How You Can Help?
Get up and make the trip! We will do everything we can to make
it worth the trip. Take your kids to Bigtime and then go to adult
worship services. Go home and figure out have to have some quality
family time during the week. Then repeat!

Our monthly family experience!
Through music, drama and storytelling we introduce the "virtue
of the month." This is something for parents and kids so
we encourage families to attend together. It's offered during
the second service the first Sunday of the month. |
| Wednesday Nights |
Our mid-week events for children run concurrent
with the Maury County school year. When school is in session
we offer a variety of large group/small group activties. Then
in the summer it's all about family time with concerts, scavenger
hunts, movie nights, etc. |
| Easter Egg Hunt |
We have a huge egg hunt at noon every Easter!
It's out in the back field and the kids hunt eggs then have
the rest of the day free to spend with thier family. |
| Not-So-Scary Halloween Party |
This is Maury Hill's version of "Trunk
or Treat." It's a huge outdoor event with costumes, games,
inflatables, live music and candy of course. |
| Christmas Musical |
Our children perform a musical on the Sunday
before Christmas. This is a great opportunity to teach them
the Christmas story and disply thier many talents! |
